The Assam government has inked a deal with the Tata Group to set up a Rs 120-crore five-star hotel in the Hathikuli tea garden, Kaziranga. The agreement aims to propel tourism by offering a world-class experience to visitors.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma noted a significant uptick in tourists since Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the heritage site earlier this year. 'We are taking forward the prime minister's initiative to boost tourism in the region and attract more tourists to Assam,' Sarma stated.
The project is projected to generate over 200 direct employment opportunities and enhance luxury hospitality in the region. The Tata Group also plans to establish another Taj Gateway Hotel between Guwahati and Jagiroad, Sarma added.
