In a significant move to boost tourism, the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board has inked an MoU with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police to make travel to the hill state's remote border areas more accessible.
This collaboration will allow the use of helipads under the ITBP's jurisdiction, thus facilitating chopper services for tourists visiting hard-to-reach religious destinations, according to Chief Secretary Radha Raturi.
Moreover, these helipads will serve a dual purpose, offering medical transport services to residents of border villages as part of a comprehensive development plan under the government's 'Vibrant Village' initiative.
