Director James Mangold, celebrated for films such as 'Logan' and 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,' has voiced his criticism of multiverse storytelling.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Mangold, whose latest project is the Timothee Chalamet-starring Bob Dylan biopic 'A Complete Unknown,' stated, 'I don't do multiverses.' Despite having worked on several franchise films, Mangold revealed he is personally not attracted to IP-driven entertainment.

'It's weird that I've even worked in the world of IP entertainment because I don't like multi-movie universe-building. I think it's the enemy of storytelling,' Mangold told Rolling Stone. He emphasized that movies should resonate on an emotional level and not rely on intellectual constructs like Easter eggs.

Mangold, also known for 'Ford v Ferrari' and 'Girl, Interrupted,' believes the focus should be on the unique aspects of each film and its characters, rather than connections to other movies or universes.
