Grand Janmashtami Celebration Planning Meeting in Mathura Called Off

A meeting to plan a grand Janmashtami celebration in Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, has been called off. The meeting, scheduled for Thursday and to be chaired by UP Minister of Tourism and Culture Jaiveer Singh, was canceled over the minister's health issues.
District officials noted that the meeting was set to take place at 3 PM in the auditorium of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad. However, due to unforeseen health-related reasons, all of Singh's scheduled programs were canceled, according to a press statement from his office.
Janmashtami, commemorating Lord Krishna's birth, is celebrated grandly at Krishna Janmabhoomi, attracting participants from across the globe. This year's celebration will span three days in the last week of August.
