Kannada rapper Chandan Shetty is set to make his acting debut in the upcoming film 'Vidyarthi Vidhyarthiniyare', which hits theaters on July 19. Known for his ubiquitous hit song '3 Pegs,' Shetty recalled his struggle and triumph over adversity in his musical journey. Despite initially being dismissed by a DJ for requesting a Kannada song, Shetty's '3 Pegs' went on to garner over 157 million views on YouTube.

Reflecting on his path to fame, Shetty recounted his years as a behind-the-scenes lyricist, singer, and assistant music director. He emphasized the importance of recognizing the creators behind popular songs. Shetty's decision to pursue a career as an independent musician singing in Kannada, despite early failures, eventually paid off with hits like 'Halagode' in 2015.

As Shetty ventures into acting, he aims to bring originality to the Kannada film industry, which he believes needs to reinvent itself to stay competitive. Confident in his debut film's appeal to Gen Z, Shetty remains undeterred by potential setbacks. 'I know that hard work always finds acceptance,' he said.
