The Union Health Ministry has formed a three-member committee to investigate allegations of misconduct in the issuance of a non-creamy layer OBC certificate to the son of AIIMS Patna's executive director. This certificate reportedly facilitated his admission into a postgraduate course at AIIMS Gorakhpur.

Dr Gopal Krushna Pal, who serves as the Executive Director of AIIMS Patna and holds additional charge of AIIMS Gorakhpur, is at the center of this controversy. Reports indicate that his son, Auroprakash Pal, used the controversial OBC certificate to secure a spot in a three-year Microbiology PG course.

An official order confirmed the committee's formation, underscoring the need to investigate the alleged violation of rules and guidelines in the issuance and use of the non-creamy layer OBC certificate by Dr Auroprakash Pal.
