Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced on Monday that his administration has filled 30,000 job vacancies within 90 days of coming to power and is in the process of recruiting another 35,000 people.

The government is setting up 'Young India Skills University' to provide skill training to youth, boosting their employment prospects, Reddy revealed.

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra has agreed to serve as the chairperson of the skills university, with its board comprising top executives from reputed corporates.

Addressing the performance of India at the recent Olympics, Reddy announced the establishment of 'Young India Sports University' with the aim to produce athletes from Telangana who can win medals in the 2028 Olympics.

Reddy was speaking at an event distributing Rs one lakh cheques to civil services aspirants under the 'Rajiv Gandhi civil services Abhaya Hastam' programme.

Criticizing the previous BRS government, Reddy alleged that social welfare residential schools for SC, ST, BC, and minorities lacked basic infrastructure and were housed in subpar private buildings.

The Congress government aims to set up 100 'Young India integrated residential schools' in the state with a Rs 5,000 crore budget.

Reddy also blamed the BRS government for weakening state universities, promising to appoint vice chancellors to all varsities and fill academic vacancies within 10-15 days to improve education quality.

In a veiled attack on political opponents, Reddy accused some of provoking students for political mileage and highlighted the previous regime's failure in recruiting over the past decade.

He addressed the ongoing protests seeking the postponement of competitive exams, stating that they are driven by political conspiracies, but assured students and job aspirants that the government is ready to listen to their concerns without the need for protests.

Reddy also announced financial assistance for those who clear the civil services mains exam.
