In a significant move, the Institute of Foreign Language under the Department of Non-Resident Keralites' Affairs (NORKA) has signed an MoU with Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment (CBLA), marking its official position as a language partner for the Occupational English Test (OET).

Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment, known for managing OET, caters to healthcare professionals seeking to practise in English-speaking sectors worldwide. The agreement was formalized by NORKA CEO Ajith Kolassery and OET Chief Commercial Officer Adam Phillips.

K Vasuki, Secretary in charge of External Cooperation, highlighted that Kerala is focusing on skill development, thereby enabling health professionals to secure international employment. As per NORKA's release, workshops for OET trainers and special preparatory sessions for students will be conducted at the NIFL centres in Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, enhancing their language proficiency for better career prospects.
