Lakhs of candidates turned out for the Uttar Pradesh police constable recruitment exam on Friday across 1,174 centres in 67 districts. This marks the commencement of a new five-day examination period, reinstated after allegations of a paper leak led to the cancellation of exams held in February.
Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar assured that security arrangements are under thorough inspection. "The exams are proceeding smoothly, with CCTVs operating as expected," he said.
Held in two shifts—10 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm—over five days, approximately 9.5 lakh candidates are expected each day. The government has implemented stringent security measures to prevent any malpractices.
