Academic activities at Jadavpur University came to a standstill on Friday as both professors and students called for a strike to protest the recent vandalism at RG Kar Medical College.
They demanded the arrest of those involved in the alleged rape and murder of a post-graduate trainee doctor last week at the state-run hospital.
The Jadavpur University Teachers' Association organized a day-long ceasework and a two-hour sit-in at the administrative building, condemning any attempts to hide evidence related to the tragic incident.
