In a bid to align education with the demands of modern industries, government-run and aided schools across Goa have introduced coding and robotics to their curriculums, benefitting around 65,000 students. This initiative is part of the state government's ambitious CARES scheme, designed to equip students with new-age skills and ensure they are future-ready.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recently highlighted the implementation success of the Coding and Robotics Education in Schools (CARES) scheme. According to Sawant, this program has garnered national and international accolades, helping students master essential skills for the digital economy.

Dr Vijay Borges, the Project Director for CARES, stated that the scheme has been operational for four years, targeting middle school students. By leveraging engineering professionals as 'teach for Goa' fellows, the program uses project-based learning to teach students coding and robotics, ultimately fostering innovation and technological adaptability.
