Sikkim Limits School Children’s Independence Day Activities to Prevent Academic Disruption
The Sikkim government has restricted the duration of school children’s engagement in Independence Day activities to a maximum of seven days, citing concerns over academic disruptions. This directive was issued by Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, R Telang, aiming to strike a balance between celebrating the event and maintaining students' academic schedules.

The Sikkim government has mandated that school children should not be engaged in Independence Day-related activities for more than seven days, aiming to prevent disruptions in their academic schedules.
According to an official circular, prolonged engagements exceeding 15 days have been observed, prompting the need for this new directive.
Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Education Department, R Telang, emphasized the importance of balancing national celebrations with the academic progression of students, issuing the directive on Saturday.
