Starbucks plans to lay off 1,100 corporate employees globally as CEO Brian Niccol aims to streamline operations. Affected employees will be notified by mid-day Tuesday. Starbucks will cut 1,100 corporate jobs globally as new CEO Brian Niccol works to streamline operations. The affected employees will be informed by Tuesday, as Niccol seeks a more efficient, accountable structure.
While 16,000 corporate support roles exist, not all are impacted, including roasting and warehouse staff, as well as store baristas. Niccol emphasizes decision-making power in an effort to reduce structural complexity.
The CEO, brought in to address declining sales, also focuses on improving service times and enhancing Starbucks locations as community hubs while combating challenges from rising prices and competition in key markets like the US and China.
