India Leads in Global Vaccine Management Training

The National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) is extending its expertise in vaccine management to neighboring countries, including Nepal and Maldives. This initiative, spearheaded by the National Cold Chain Vaccine Management Resource Centre (NCCVMRC), aims to strengthen global capacity in effective vaccine distribution.
Dr. Dheeraj Shah, Director of NIHFW, highlighted India's robust framework in cold chain management and its role in providing technical support for training program managers and technicians. This capability ensures optimal functionality of cold-chain points across the vast network, crucial for maintaining vaccine effectiveness.
As part of its operations, the NCCVMRC trains a national pool of technicians to swiftly address any mechanical faults in the cold chain equipment, emphasizing skill-based training in repair and maintenance. The center plans to elevate its status to an international center of excellence, reflecting India's leadership in immunization and supply chain management.
