Mumbai Airport Sees Surge in Festive Season Traffic
Mumbai Airport's passenger traffic rose 4% year-on-year to over 4.42 million in October due to festive travel. The airport, second busiest in India and partly owned by Adani Group, saw major travel during Dussehra, Dhanteras, and Diwali. October 26 was the peak of air traffic activity.

Mumbai Airport experienced a notable 4% increase in passenger traffic year-on-year, reaching over 4.42 million in October. This growth was driven by the surge in festive travel demand, according to Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL).
The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), India's second busiest and predominantly owned by the Adani Group, facilitated travel for 3.16 million domestic and over 1.25 million international passengers. This spike in traffic coincided with major October festivals, including Dussehra, Dhanteras, and Diwali.
On October 26, the airport recorded its highest air traffic movements of the month, with 939 flights in a single day, emphasizing the heightened festive season activity. The total air traffic movements included 19,848 domestic and 7,222 international flights, offering expanded travel options for passengers.
