Germany is reiterating a stern warning against traveling to Iran, emphasizing the heightened risk of being taken hostage by Tehran's authorities.
During a press briefing held on Friday, a spokesperson for the foreign ministry underscored the urgency of the situation, pointing to the case of executed German-Iranian national, Jamshid Sharmahd.
The government is keen on preventing further German citizens from suffering a similar fate and continuously advises nationals currently in Iran to vacate the country promptly.
