Data released on Wednesday indicates that the growth of eight key infrastructure sectors slowed to 2 per cent in September, compared to 9.5 per cent last year.

This marks a positive shift from the 1.6 per cent contraction recorded in August. However, in September, three sectors, including crude oil, natural gas, and electricity, experienced negative growth.

During the fiscal period of April to September, the growth rate for these core sectors was 4.2 per cent—down from 8.2 per cent during the same period last fiscal year. These sectors make up 40.27 per cent of the Index of Industrial Production which measures overall industrial growth.
