GIFT City Unveils Fintech Education and Innovation Hubs

The Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, widely known as GIFT City, has officially announced the launch of two major initiatives: the GIFT International Fintech Institute (GIFT IFI) and the GIFT International Fintech Innovation Hub (GIFT IFIH). These ventures are part of GIFT City's strategic plan to emerge as a pivotal global center for fintech education and start-up growth, with backing from the Asian Development Bank.
The GIFT IFI, slated to begin its training programs in January 2025, will be driven by an elite consortium led by Ahmedabad University, collaborating with IIT Gandhinagar and the University of California, San Diego. This initiative focuses on equipping professionals with skills precisely aligned with modern financial sector needs, thereby reinforcing GIFT City's status as a leading international fintech hub.
Meanwhile, the GIFT IFIH, managed by the global accelerator platform Plug and Play, seeks to support start-ups with expert guidance, expansive networking opportunities, and a dynamic space for growth. According to Tapan Ray, MD and Group CEO of GIFT City, these advancements signal a significant milestone in cultivating a globally connected ecosystem that supports diverse innovations, positioning India as a frontrunner in the fintech arena.
