A fifteen-member Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence paid a visit to the Southern Air Command on Thursday. This visit, led by Lok Sabha member Radha Mohan Singh, highlighted the Command's strategic importance in Southern India's maritime domain.
Air Marshal B Manikantan AVSM VM welcomed the committee and provided an overview of the Southern Air Command's multifaceted role. He emphasized its transformation from a tactical body to a multi-spectrum force with trans-oceanic capabilities.
In his address, Radha Mohan Singh praised the Southern Air Command for its relentless efforts in protecting Southern India. He also commended the Indian Air Force for its pivotal role in humanitarian and disaster relief operations.
