An Air India flight heading from Mumbai to New York faced an urgent diversion to Delhi following a bomb threat, according to officials. The plane, carrying 239 passengers, made its unscheduled landing in the national capital on Monday.
Authorities initiated a comprehensive security sweep of the aircraft at Indira Gandhi International Airport, adhering strictly to safety protocols. Officials confirmed that nothing suspicious was uncovered, ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew members on board.
In light of the incident, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol visited the Delhi airport to assess the situation, affirming that all necessary assistance and accommodations for the passengers were arranged. Meanwhile, separate bomb threats disrupted the operations of two IndiGo flights scheduled to depart from Mumbai to Muscat and Kuwait respectively.
