Fast MEMU Service Boosts Connectivity for Kumbh Mela Devotees
The Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway will launch a fast MEMU service connecting Ayodhya and Varanasi for the Kumbh Mela. A total of 1,225 trains will be operated. For enhanced safety, 21 bridges will be built, and an integrated mela control tower will assist crowd management.

The North Central Railway's Prayagraj Division is set to introduce a fast ring MEMU service, enhancing connectivity for Kumbh Mela pilgrims visiting sacred sites in Ayodhya and Varanasi, officials announced.
Scheduled to operate daily from Prayagraj to Ayodhya and Varanasi, with a break during the main bathing festivals, this marks the first MEMU service deployment for the event, according to Divisional Railway Manager Himanshu Badoni.
To ensure efficient travel, 1,225 trains will run, supported by strategic safety measures including new overbridges and underbridges, and an integrated control tower. A toll-free number and 8,000 staff will be available to assist travelers during the festival.
