Train services on Mumbai's Central line faced major disruptions for 90 minutes after an overhead wire snapped between Thakurli and Kalyan stations, impacting commuters during the evening rush hour.
According to a Central Railway spokesperson, the wire snapped on the Down slow (Kalyan-bound) line at 7.20 pm, causing a halt for at least four local trains.
Restoration efforts resolved the issue one-and-a-half hours later. The incident led to delays of 15 to 20 minutes for local trains, resulting in crowded platforms and trains across various stations.
