Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced on Saturday his decision to undertake an 11-day penance at the Sri Dasavatara Venkateswara Swamy temple to atone for the alleged adulteration of animal fats in Tirupati laddus.
The actor-politician said the penance will start Sunday at Namburu in Guntur district and will conclude with a visit to Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple. Kalyan stated in a post on 'X' that he seeks the deity's power to perform ritualistic sanitisation to undo the alleged sins of the past government.
Kalyan also expressed disbelief about how Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) employees and board members remained unaware of these supposed irregularities. TTD is responsible for managing the temple.
