Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has sanctioned Rs 11,000 crore for road development in Chhattisgarh, according to an official statement released on Monday.
This substantial funding is earmarked for the enhancement of four major national highways, as well as to stimulate industrial growth across the state. The announcement came during a review meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo in New Delhi.
During the discussions, Gadkari highlighted the necessity of addressing hurdles related to project delays, urging the forest department to expedite necessary clearances and resolve pending issues. He stressed the importance of timely completion of all ongoing and proposed projects, which include the Urga-Katghora bypass (NH-149B), Basna to Sarangarh (Manikpur) feeder route, Sarangarh to Raigarh feeder route, and the Raipur-Lakhanadon economic corridor, totaling 236.1 km in length. Additional instructions focused on completing the Raipur-Visakhapatnam and Bilaspur-Urga-Pathalgaon roads within stipulated timelines.
