Nepal Strengthens Ties with China During Key Infrastructure Talks

Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation and expediting infrastructure projects in a meeting with China's Vice Premier He Lifeng in Beijing.
According to a press release by the Nepal Finance Ministry, Vice Premier He assured Paudel that the Chinese government would quicken the execution of previously announced projects.
The two leaders focused on advancing key infrastructure projects including the Kerung-Kathmandu railway, Tokha-Chhahare tunnel, and the Kimathangka-Hile road, among others.
The conversation also highlighted expanding direct air services and the importance of a reliable transport system to boost economic growth and quality of life, essential for a landlocked country like Nepal.
Paudel participated in the Global Sustainable Transport Forum and emphasized sustainable transport in his opening ceremony speech. He is set to return home on Saturday.
