Union Minister and Shiv Sena leader Prataprao Jadhav revealed on Saturday that his family has not paid farm electricity bills for three generations, including himself.
Speaking at an event for a farm electricity bills waiver scheme, he stated, ''I am a farmer. We haven't paid bills for the last three generations. My grandfather's (water) pumps are still there. ''Neither my grandfather and my father, nor I paid the farm electricity bills,'' said the Minister of State for Ayush and Health and Family Welfare.
The event highlighted the Chief Minister Baliraja Free Electricity Scheme 2024, an initiative by the Eknath Shinde government, which provides free electricity to farmers using agricultural pumps up to 7.5 horsepower. Jadhav, who represents Buldhana Lok Sabha constituency, also mentioned giving cash to engineers for installing new distribution panels if the old ones burned out.
