IIT-Delhi experts are set to investigate recent bus fire incidents and have recommended six members for a dedicated committee, according to an official statement.

The formation of the committee, commanded by Professor Anjan Ray and including experts from multiple engineering disciplines, follows directives from Delhi Minister Kailash Gahlot to examine the bus fires thoroughly. Gahlot emphasized that passenger safety is paramount and necessitates immediate intervention.

The committee will probe fire causes in both electric and CNG buses, assess maintenance practices, and suggest technological precautions. They will also identify the training needs for drivers and conductors to manage crises. An interim report is due in three weeks, with a final report slated for eight weeks.
