IAEA head Rafael Grossi has arrived in Ukraine to meet with top energy officials and will visit the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in a bid to prevent a wartime nuclear catastrophe. This visit follows his warnings about the dangers at Russia's Kursk nuclear power station.
In his latest Ukraine visit, Grossi met with Energy Minister German Galushchenko and other nuclear officials to discuss the IAEA's role in ensuring the safety of Ukraine's nuclear sites. Grossi reiterated the agency's full commitment to nuclear security through on-ground presence at each Ukrainian facility.
The visit comes amid mutual accusations between Russia and Ukraine regarding the safety of the Zaporizhzhia plant, which is now under Russian control.
