Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded the significant growth of India's civil aviation sector, attributing much of its inclusivity to the regional air connectivity scheme, UDAN. Modi was speaking at the Second Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation in the capital.

He highlighted that air travel has become inclusive, benefiting over 14 million lower middle-class passengers under the UDAN scheme. Modi emphasized the necessity of keeping the skies open for all to ensure that everyone's dream of flying is realized.

The Prime Minister also pointed to the burgeoning middle class as a driving force behind the sector's growth and mentioned that the government is preparing for advanced air mobility, with air taxis soon becoming a reality. The two-day conference brought together industry leaders and policymakers from 29 countries.
