India's Aviation Sector Soars: PM Modi Highlights Inclusive Air Travel

Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the significant growth and inclusivity in the Indian civil aviation sector on Thursday, attributing it to the regional air connectivity scheme, UDAN.
Addressing the Second Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation in New Delhi, Modi emphasized the sector's critical role in job creation and economic growth. He voiced that the initiatives under UDAN have enabled 14 million people, predominantly from the lower middle class, to afford air travel.
Modi also highlighted future advancements, stating the government's preparations for advanced air mobility, including the introduction of air taxis. The two-day conference, attended by 300 delegates from 29 countries, aims at fostering collaboration among transport and aviation officials and industry experts in the Asia Pacific region.
