Veteran industry leader Deepak Parekh commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance, despite the reduced number of seats in his third term, during a Wednesday event at the Milken Institute.

Parekh remarked that while Modi's governance remains strong, local instability in states like Manipur and religious tensions in West Bengal persist. He mentioned that the Manipur police have sought the Centre's assistance in resolving their issues.

At the launch of the India operations of the Milken Institute, Parekh questioned why American corporations have not invested significantly in India, given the higher growth achieved compared to the global average. He stressed the need for better ease of doing business initiatives to attract U.S. investments.
