The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has confirmed plans to begin a trial run on a 12-kilometre segment of its route from Sahibabad to Delhi's New Ashok Nagar in November. This announcement follows the near completion of the New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat station.
The test run, which will evaluate the system's readiness, is expected to facilitate seamless transit between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South RRTS stations, reducing travel time to approximately 35-40 minutes. The Delhi section of the NCRTC corridor features a nine-km elevated viaduct and a five-km underground stretch.
Infrastructure developments, including the construction of additional foot over bridges and parking spaces, aim to enhance connectivity and passenger convenience. These steps are part of NCRTC's larger plan to complete the entire 82-km corridor by June 2025, allowing for under-an-hour travel between Delhi and Meerut.
