The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has solidified its dedication to student safety by installing 200 CCTV cameras across 36 schools, covering around 10,000 students. This proactive measure follows a Government Resolution issued on August 24, 2024, and aims to bolster security and create a palpable sense of safety for students and parents.

The initiative, launched by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde via video conferencing, was commemorated at the Bharatratna Gansamradni Lata Mangeshkar Natyagruha Auditorium. Present at the event were MBMC Commissioner Sanjay Katkar, Police Commissioner Madhukar Pandey, and legislators Pratap Sarnaik and Geeta Jain. The Chief Minister underlined that the real measure of security goes beyond safety protocols—it lies in making safety genuinely felt by the students and their families.

A standout feature of the initiative is the newly established Central School Command Centre (CSCC), capable of overseeing 1,000 cameras in real-time. The CSCC enables continuous monitoring from 7 AM to 5 PM, ensuring immediate responses to potential threats. Such advancements, along with plans to extend coverage to private schools, highlight MBMC's commitment to pioneering school safety measures in the region.
