Three foreign workers who were trapped for days in a collapsed railway tunnel in northeastern Thailand have been recovered, Thai officials announced on Friday.

The tunnel, part of a Thai-Chinese high-speed railway project connecting Bangkok to Nong Khai, collapsed late Saturday. The victims included one worker from Myanmar and two from China.

Initial investigations suggest that heavy rains caused the collapse. The 126-hour rescue effort involved Thai and Chinese teams, and autopsies are underway to determine the exact causes of death.
