Amazon India and Indian Railways Forge Strong Logistics Partnership
Amazon India and the Indian Railways have signed an MoU to enhance their partnership, focusing on the reliable and fast transportation of packages. The agreement aims to establish a hub-and-spoke model, improve operational timelines, and leverage dedicated freight corridors to streamline logistics and meet e-commerce demand.

In a significant move aimed at bolstering logistics, Amazon India and the Indian Railways have strengthened their tie-up by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday. The partnership seeks to enhance the transportation of Amazon packages using the Indian Railways' extensive regional network.
According to a press release by Amazon India, both entities will collaboratively develop a hub-and-spoke model for a single origin-destination pair. The learnings will be used to scale the model across the entire network, focusing on first and last-mile requirements, transit times, cost options, and policy enablers to boost parcel volumes on railways.
Ravinder Goyal, Member (Operations and Business Development) of the Railway Board, praised Amazon for this collaborative effort and encouraged the e-commerce sector to utilize rail transport's efficiency and sustainability. Abhinav Singh, vice-president of operations at Amazon India, emphasized that this partnership reflects their goal of providing fast and reliable deliveries, aligning with the government's vision for economic growth.
