Government Expands Rs 1 Lakh Crore Agricultural Infrastructure Fund Scheme

The government on Wednesday announced an expansion of the Rs 1 lakh crore Agricultural Infrastructure Fund (AIF) scheme, aiming to strengthen the country's farm-related infrastructure.
The Union Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the expansion to make the scheme more inclusive and impactful, according to an official statement.
Additional measures include new industrial nodes, enhanced project eligibility, and extended credit guarantee options for Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) through NABSanrakshan Trustee Company Pvt Ltd. The initiatives aim to improve farm productivity, sustainability, and the development of agricultural infrastructure, boosting employment and economic growth.
