The leaders plan to assess the progress in their efforts to strengthen cooperation and discuss future strategies to deepen their partnership before Kishida's expected resignation later this month, according to a statement from his office.
Since taking office in 2022, President Yoon has prioritized mending ties with Japan and enhancing security collaboration to address North Korea's military threats, leading to a significant improvement in relations between the neighboring countries.
