Tragic Bus Accident in Nepal: Maharashtra to Bring Back Victims

A tragic bus accident in Nepal claimed the lives of 14 Indian passengers and injured 16 more on Friday. The bus, which veered off the highway and fell 150 meters into the Marsyangdi river, carried primarily residents from Maharashtra's Jalgaon district.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his condolences on 'X' and mentioned that the state government is actively working with both the Indian embassy in Nepal and officials in Uttar Pradesh to bring back the affected individuals. He assured that the district collector is in contact with the Maharajganj collector in UP to facilitate the process.
The bus, originating from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, was en route to Kathmandu from Pokhara before the accident occurred in Nepal's Tanahun district. Authorities confirmed that the vehicle was part of a larger group of 104 Indian pilgrims on a 10-day tour. Efforts are underway to ensure the quick return of survivors and the deceased.
