An 18-year-old woman lost her life, and six others suffered injuries in a tragic multi-vehicle collision in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone district on Thursday, according to police reports.

The accident occurred when a truck laden with wheat experienced brake failure while navigating a slope at Ganesh Ghat on the Agra-Mumbai national highway, an official disclosed.

The truck collided with the rear end of a container vehicle, which subsequently caught fire. The container then slammed into six cars and a bus. Inspector Pankaj Tiwari of Maheshwar police station reported that emergency services extinguished the fire and rushed the injured to a hospital in Indore.

Among the injured was Riya Jadhav, an 18-year-old bus passenger who succumbed to her injuries. Jadhav was leaning out of a bus window to vomit when she was fatally hurt, according to the police official.

Inspector Tiwari also noted that the affected stretch of the highway is notorious for accidents and is labeled a ''black spot.''
