New Delhi: The landscape of luxury living is undergoing a significant transformation as buyers increasingly seek harmony between opulence and environmental stewardship. The fusion of sustainable living and high-end lifestyle has created a distinct niche for luxury homes amidst lush greenery and open spaces, reflecting a growing demand for eco-conscious living.

Anarock's latest research reveals that luxury homes with eco-conscious amenities captured 45 percent of NCR's housing sales in the first half of 2024. This marks a dramatic increase from just a three percent share in 2019. 'Several factors are driving this demand,' says Sandeep Chhillar, Founder & Chairman of Landmark Group. 'Today's discerning buyers not only look for lavish amenities but also prioritize sustainability and nature. The increasing awareness of environmental issues coupled with a desire for a healthier lifestyle has made green living integral to luxury real estate.'

Research indicates that over 60 percent of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNIs) and high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) intend to purchase luxury properties. According to Prasoon Chauhan, Founder & CEO of Aurika Homes, 'Integration of nature into luxury living is not just a trend but a reflection of a broader environmental movement. The synergy between sustainability and luxury is redefining opulent living.'

Location plays a crucial role. Developers in NCR are focusing on areas offering ample open spaces and green practices. Projects like Prateek Canary in Noida and Landmark Avana in Gurugram epitomize this trend. Both offer luxurious living amidst lush greenery and panoramic views, combining nature with high-end amenities.

Developers are increasingly adopting eco-friendly construction practices and materials to meet rising demand. Salil Kumar, Director of CRC Group, notes that HNWIs and modern buyers prioritize spaces that align with their values of sustainability and health. This shift is prompting developers to integrate green technologies and extensive landscaping into luxury projects.

The future of luxury living is undeniably green, with sustainable homes commanding higher resale values. This premium on eco-friendly living reflects a broader societal shift toward environmental responsibility, setting a new standard for opulence.
