In a gripping case of alleged fraud, Mumbai Police have booked builder-developer Pratik Vira for purportedly using forged documents to take control of 71 flats and offices in the Samriddhi Garden Project in Bhandup. The fraud reportedly amounts to Rs 13.65 crore.

The case came into light after real estate developer Kashyap Mehta filed a complaint at the Azad Maidan police station, prompting an FIR. Investigations revealed that Vira engaged in fraudulent activities during the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) for Sivana Realty's Samriddhi Garden Project.

The FIR indicates that Vira, who joined Sunshine Group in 2010, subsequently took over Sunshine Housing and renamed it Sivana Realty. Despite having significant funds, he allegedly manipulated financial documents to show just Rs 13 lakh in outstanding, thereby facilitating the insolvency.
