Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the 'Make in India' initiative, asserting its pivotal role in propelling India's economy on the global stage. In a recent social media post on platform 'X,' PM Modi reshared a MyGovIndia post, which highlighted the growing global impact of local Indian crafts.

The post from MyGovIndia, citing various news sources, reported on the widespread success of Indian products, from bicycles to digital payment systems, in international markets. It underscored the journey of the 'Made in India' initiative in transforming and capturing global attention.

MyGovIndia detailed reports of the international demand for Made-In-India bicycles and 'Made in Bihar' boots now being used by the Russian Army, symbolizing the unexpected reach of Indian goods. The post also noted the popularity of Kashmir willow bats and celebrated Amul's expansion into the US market with its dairy products, epitomizing the global appeal of Indian flavors.

Highlighting the Unified Payment System (UPI), the post stated that it has now become a global phenomenon, facilitating seamless digital payments in multiple countries. Launched on September 25, 2014, the 'Make in India' initiative aims to foster investment, innovation, and world-class infrastructure to establish India as a manufacturing and design hub.

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry emphasized the ongoing priority of developing a robust manufacturing sector. Since its inception, the initiative has achieved numerous milestones and currently targets 27 sectors under 'Make in India 2.0,' involving various governmental levels.

To enhance the economic landscape, the government has enacted several policy measures, including the Atmanirbhar Bharat packages and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme across 14 sectors. Other efforts include investment opportunities under the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP), the National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP), and a range of initiatives like the India Industrial Land Bank (IILB) and Industrial Park Rating System (IPRS). An institutional mechanism, Project Development Cells (PDCs), has been established to expedite investments across ministries and departments, according to the Commerce Ministry.
