Delta Air Lines is altering its employee uniform policy after a social media uproar triggered by a passenger's post showing two flight attendants wearing Palestinian pins.

The post, dated July 10, labeled the pins as “Hamas badges” and led Delta to prohibit pins representing any country besides the United States. This new rule will take effect from Monday.

“We are proud of our diverse base of employees and customers. Our brand aims to connect the world and deliver a premium experience,” stated the Atlanta-based airline. “This step ensures a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all.” Delta's policy change mirrors the ongoing tensions related to the Israel-Hamas conflict, causing significant protests and disruptions.

The attendants in question were previously compliant with Delta's flexible uniform accessory policy. Controversy had been fueled when an employee, who has since been reassigned, suggested the attendants violated rules and sympathized with concerned passengers. This post was later deleted but documented by CAIR National.

Delta also apologized and confirmed the removal of the employee responsible for the post from social media communications.
