The Indian Air Force unveiled a cutting-edge simulator for the C-295 aircraft at the Agra Air Force Station, as announced by the Defence Ministry. The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated by Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit on November 11. It's designed to mimic real-life mission scenarios including tactical airlift, para-dropping, and disaster relief.
This advanced simulator allows pilots to practice complex maneuvers and handle high-risk emergency situations, significantly boosting the IAF's operational preparedness and enhancing flight safety. It also optimizes resources by minimizing the actual flying hours needed for training.
The acquisition of C-295 aircraft marks a key development under 'Atmanirbhar Bharat', with a $21,935-crore contract signed between India and Airbus Defense and Space SA in 2021. Production is being undertaken by Tata Advanced Systems Ltd, strengthening India's aerospace sector.
