Tourists and locals are in for a unique treat as Rome's iconic Trevi Fountain undergoes maintenance. A newly erected footbridge offers an unprecedented view of the fountain's ornate facade, standing for approximately two months during the restoration.

Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri emphasized the rare opportunity the bridge provides, letting visitors admire the fountain from a perspective usually unavailable. This initiative is aimed at enriching the tourist experience amidst ongoing work.

The restoration, expected to wrap up by year-end, involves meticulous cleaning efforts to eliminate dirt and pollutants, according to Anna Maria Cerioni, head of Rome's art restoration. A similar setup in 2014 showed success, with current guest access regulated to avoid overcrowding near the beloved monument.
