Bharti Airtel has announced a significant technological advancement with the rollout of its new AI-powered detection system in West Bengal. Launched just a month ago, this system has already identified 154 million potential spam calls and 8 million spam messages.
The telecom giant is offering this service for free, requiring no additional downloads or requests from its customers. The service aims to address the growing digital threats like scams and fraud that customers encounter regularly.
Ayan Sarkar, Bharti Airtel's CEO for West Bengal & Orissa, highlighted that the solution has been developed internally by Airtel's data scientists. This innovative system uses proprietary algorithms to categorize communication as suspected spam, setting a new standard in network-level spam blocking.
