Senior leaders of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) convened with the Election Commission of India on Saturday to express concerns about alleged violations by the BJP's West Bengal president and the deployment of central forces in the upcoming West Bengal by-elections.

The TMC delegation, comprising leaders such as Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Derek O'Brien, and Kirti Azad Jha, submitted two formal letters to the ECI. They urged immediate action to guarantee fair conduct in the November 13 polls across six assembly constituencies in the state.

TMC MP Sushmita Dev accused BJP State President Sukanta Majumdar of derogatory remarks against the West Bengal Police and called for an apology. Additionally, the TMC highlighted the lack of coordination between central and local forces, alleging potential voter influence.
