The British government issued an apology following a report by Sky News that revealed it had inadvertently exposed the email address of Bernard Arnault, one of the world's richest individuals. This occurred just before a significant investment summit.
Edit: An oopsie-datatrust-Summit, Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Finance Minister Rachel Reeves are poised to host major figures from the finance and tech industries at the upcoming event to promote investment in the UK.
The mistake has been attributed to human error by government officials, which resulted in Arnault's email being visible to multiple recipients. In response, the Department for Business and Trade referred the incident to the Information Commissioner's Office for further investigation, underlining their commitment to data protection. The ICO has yet to comment on the issue.
