Dr D K Sunil Takes Helm at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited
Dr D K Sunil, with a career spanning 37 years at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), has taken over as Chairman and Managing Director from C B Ananthakrishnan. A pioneering figure in aerospace engineering, he has significantly contributed to HAL's advancements and forged crucial partnerships with leading institutions.
Dr D K Sunil, the newly appointed Chairman and Managing Director (Additional Charge) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), has officially assumed office, succeeding C B Ananthakrishnan as of September 1, 2024, according to officials.
Joining HAL in 1987 as a Management Trainee, Dr Sunil brings nearly 37 years of extensive experience in various capacities including design, production, quality enhancement, and customer support. His leadership has driven the development of pioneering technologies such as Radar Power Supply and Voice Activated Control Systems, solidifying HAL's position in cutting-edge aerospace engineering.
Dr Sunil has played a key role in forging partnerships with leading academic institutions like IIT Kanpur and IIIT Hyderabad, enhancing HAL's technological capabilities. His contributions include projects like Active ESA Radar, Automatic Flight Control System for Light Combat Helicopters, and Mission Computers. He has also published seven research papers and holds copyrights and a patent in wireless communication innovations.
