Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has stated that billionaire Elon Musk must comply with the rulings of the country's Supreme Court. This announcement comes amid an ongoing conflict that could lead to the shutdown of Musk's social media platform X in Brazil.

The social media giant X was still operational on Friday morning; however, the platform disclosed on Thursday that it anticipates Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes will order a shutdown soon after the company's failure to identify a legal representative in Brazil by a court-imposed deadline.

Additionally, the Supreme Court has blocked the local bank accounts of Musk's Starlink satellite internet firm, reportedly due to its lack of legal representation in Brazil. According to Brazilian internet laws, social media companies must have a representative based in the country. To execute a shutdown, Justice Moraes would instruct telecommunication companies to halt the transmission of X's traffic, although users could circumvent the block using VPNs.
